I appreciate the opportunity to work with such
positive, forward-thinking individuals. I
hope that we will have the chance to work together again as we share a
passion for changing ideas of marriage into ideals of wedded bliss.
By collaborating with local service providers such as the
Marriage Resource Center, MFS serves families from all
communities, ethnicities, and religious backgrounds. Last year,
the MRC trained MFS staff in some of the best programs for
families such as PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement
Program) and Smart Steps for Stepfamilies. MRC and MFS
collaborated to provide marital education for engaged and
married couples who were part of an underserved and minority
community.
Dr. Ali Suleiman Ali
Director, Muslim Family Services
Last year, FYI collaborated with the Marriage Resource Center
(MRC) to provide American Muslims with culturally sensitive
educational presentations on how to strengthen their marriages.
The program served to increase awareness of the need for marital
education, provided young couples with practical skills to
improve their relationship, and resources for follow up. The
response from participants was overwhelming and many couples who
had been struggling in their marriages reported that this
program helped to strengthen and preserve their relationships.

The MRC provided members of MAS Youth Detroit with free
educational training in Prevention and Relationship Enhancement
Program (PREP) as well as Smart Marriages for Stepfamilies in
order to assist MAS Youth workers with skills needed to serve
young people.
